Babushahi.com was formally launched in 11-11-2011 at 11:11:11 as first online venture of Tirchhi Nazar Media Network set up Chandigarh, India. Initially, it was envisaged to be a Bi-lingual site with a focus on bureaucracy, governance and politics. However, considering its popularity and wide appeal and reach, it has grown out of its original mould to become an effective web medium that is recognized as an authentic source of crisp, hard and fast news of varied fields. Now this has English (www.babushahi.com) as well as Punjabi (www.babushahi.in) version.

Along with the added wealth of information in babushahi version 2 launched on May, 20, 2013, the visuals and display have been given more importance. There are several new features that now form part of what's on offer.

Amidst all these changes, our commitment remain the same: a reliable source of crisp, authentic, quick, hard and fast news and variety of info with focus on North India especially Punjab and NRI World.

The entire Babushahi Media House has been promoted by Punjab's leading 'thinking media' network-Tirchhi Nazar Media - conceived, owned and spearheaded by one of India's most celebrated regional media figures,Baljit Balli with the cooperation of IT and Media professionals. Baljit Balli is credited with introducing journalism of ideas in Punjab's fast emerging and powerful new-age media world, particularly the on-line and web genres. Backed by 35 years of experience at the highest levels of intellectual journalism in its print, electronic and web avatars, Baljit Balli is arguably the most familiar name in Punjab's vernacular and NRI media fraternity. His column Tirchhi Nazar and a TV show of the same name are familiar political, cultural and media landmarks among Punjabis all over the world.

As a veteran Media personality with the experience of 35 years in media World, began his career as journalist with Punjabi Tribune in 1980. Today Mr Balli have been regarded as an objective analyst of important social, economic, cultural, political and environmental developments in the region.

He was the Editorial Advisor with PTC Television Network from September 2009 to Oct.2011 looking after the News Coordination of New York and Toronto Offices and North America News Operations of the Channel.

He also hosted a very popular talk show “Tirchhi Nazar for the channel. He was also working as Punjab Correspondent for OMNI B C T V Channel (Earlier Channel m) Vancouver from Oct 2007 to March 2013.

He was a senior journalist with the Ajit group of newspapers for a long span of 25 years from 1984 to 2009 and headed its Chandigarh office for more than three years.

Mr Balli had been writing an Edit page weekly column in Ajit titled ‘Tirchhi Nazar’ from 1995 to Aug, 2009. It has been a very popular column as evident from its reproduction in many overseas Newspapers and Web-Magazines. He used to write weekly column Tirchhi Nazar in Dainik Bhaskar, Chandigarh in Hindi for a year.

Mr Balli remained active in Electronic Media also. He worked as a Free Lance political commentator for Air India Radio, Doordarshan, NDTV, Zee TV, Sahara TV, PTC and many media organizations based in Canada and UK. He was a regular contributor of Vancouver-based “Indo-Canadian Times” , London based DesPardes and some more overseas Punjabi newspapers and online Web Portals.

Some of the awards won by Mr Balli include Punjab Govt's Shiromani Punjabi Pattarkar Purskar, 1996; Baba Farid Purskar, 1992 and Giani Hira Singh Dard Memorial Purskar, 1995.

After leaving a long trail of successful stories in Print and TV Media Baljit Balli set up my own media company Tirchhi Nazar Media and entered into the Online and digital news media, launched web news portal www.babushahi.com in November, 2011 in English as well as in Punjabi. This venture has grown itself into a Brand in the field of online news info source of the region and especially for Global Punjab in short span of four years.
